The history of leather shoes in Japan has been weaving for 150 years since the Meiji era. In 1871, a leather shoe factory was built in Hashiba-cho, Asakusa, to take advantage of the Sumida River’s water, and since then, many shoemakers have left Asakusa to train leather and shoe processing technicians. UNTISHOLD develops and produces products together with shoemakers in Asakusa, Tokyo, who have been weaving their commitment to craftsmanship.
日本の革靴の歴史は明治時代から150年に渡り紡がれてきました。隅田川に水利を求めて浅草橋場町に革靴工場が造られたのが明治4年のことであり、それ以降、精力的に革・靴加工技術者の養成を行い、多くの靴職人が浅草から巣立っています。UNTISHOLDは東京・浅草を中心に、ものづくりへのこだわりを紡いできた靴職人の方々と共に、商品の開発・生産を行っています。
